Lesson Program

Lessons are available on our safe and well-trained lesson horses for the very beginner to an advanced ability level.  Kids may start as young as four years old and adults are also encouraged to take lessons.

Helmets are available, and riders must wear riding pants or jeans and hard sole boots or shoes.  Please do not wear flip-flops or shorts.  Gloves are encouraged, and long hair should be neatly pulled back.  See our helpful links page to assist you in purchasing the appropriate attire for riding lessons.

Sterling Training Center also offers a boot-camp for our beginner to our advanced show riders. These are typically offered in the summer and will assist a rider in becoming more advanced at their riding. Boot camp also offers an opportunity to learn at-home supplemental exercises for riding, as well as learning a more about horses and training.

Lessons are taught Tuesday through Friday until 7pm, and Saturday & Sunday from 11am-4pm unless other arrangements are made.

Lessons are thirty minutes in length, and we encourage you to choose a day that works for you each week.  This enables you to secure a weekly time slot.  We encourage that you ride once a week, but more lessons will help you to progress at a faster rate.

You are strongly encouraged to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson time.  This will allow you to get on your horse to start your lesson on time.   If you are running late or need to cancel please call Katie so we can make necessary changes.
